frequently asked questions
q: Why should I use a web design company intead of doing the work myself?
a: - Building a website should be thought of as tackling a project with many parts. There is first the designing and coding of the webpages
themselves, but there is also graphic design, optimization, hosting, and integration with email, checkout, blogs, and photo sites. Unfortunately,
we have
seen many
projects stall at one of these points; one of the hardest parts of web design is persistinging to the end. At kjm, you will find
the experience needed to handle all aspects of design and the ability to keep you on track to finish your project.

q: What is website hosting?
q: - Website hosting refers to online file storage. When designing a website, many different files are created, such as html, css, and jpg.
In order for websites to be seen around the world, the files are accessed from an online source, and hosting companies provide this service.
We use hostmonster for our websites and our clients; standard price is $50/year for hosting. While you can have a website hosted by companies
such as GoDaddy for
$50/year, you will not have the ability to add your own files for that price; you must use their site builder.

q: - Should I use a template for my website?
a: - Templates are very rigid, so modifications are time-consuming, and unless you find a template that fits all your needs perfectly,
we do not
recommend
going that route.
However, templates can be a great way to look for design ideas. Templatemonster.com and templatesbox.com are two of
our
favorites.
The exception to this rule is flash; if your site will have a flash menu or be flash-based, a template will likely be an easier and more economical route.

q: How much will my website cost?
a: - Each project is unique, so please contact us for a specific quote on cost and time. However, you may visit our Portfolio page to view
websites we have completed recently and ask us how much it would be to develop a similar website for you. Be assured that our prices are very
competitive considering the quality of websites we produce. Visit our Rates section for more information.

q: How long will my project take?
a: - Again, since each website project is unique, please contact us for a unique quote. If needed, website projects can be completed in
as
little as one week. You can help by making sure you have all text, images, documents and other information ready and available.
This, in addition to good communication and a clear design scope, will lead to the quickest turnaround that your project can have.

q: Do you offer a Content Management System?
a: - We do; please email us or include this in your quote for more information on our CMS options.

q: What forms of payment do you accept?
a: - We accept payment by check (see our address here) and by credit card through Paypal and Google Checkout. We will send an invoice
by email and you may choose which payment method you would like to use. Our standard practice is to accept 50% of the total before
beginning design
and collecting the second 50% upon your acceptance of the completed site.

q: Don't I need to use a bigger, professional design company?
a: - Despite nearly five years of experience in web design, we are not experts in each unique IT design field. For the most complicated
designs, we can recommend other companies to better serve your needs. However, for the vast majority of sites, we can deliver the highest
quality of websites with the functionality and service you need, without the exhorbitant rates charged by professional companies.
